Cavendish Waters Construction Update - July 2023

Following the receipt of the full site investigation report, our Structural Engineer has chosen the construction of a ground bearing slab as their preferred foundation solution to help spread the project’s overall weight. This decision negates the need for piling and reduces the volume of spoil to be removed from the site – proving to be a more cost-effective and environmentally friendly solution.

Our chosen groundworks contractor is now preparing the quotation upon receipt of the solution, with a view to commencing work onsite in August 23. 

We remain in continuous dialogue with the Rivers and Canals Trust Engineers to ensure all works planned to be carried out along the canal bank are designed in a manner which does not compromise the stability of the canal wall.
