Lyceum Construction Update - November 2022

A warm welcome to all our valued investors, IPG are proud to bring you our December Lyceum update. 

The cold snap has had to be curtailed as concrete cannot be laid in such freezing conditions, but the site team have progressed in all areas that are not directly affected by the severe weather currently enveloping the country. 

The gabion walling is progressing down the eastern boundary, as access to form this will be denied once the structural elements of the building come out of the ground in the New Year.

With demolition complete, the resulting work has created a huge stockpile of crushed bricks. Our aim is to recycle this material, which will involve grinding it down so it can then form hardstanding areas and sub-bases around the scheme. This negates the need to import material, speeding up construction onsite whilst simultaneously reducing our carbon footprint.

As the year closes, we have been reflecting on the great results the team have achieved in resurrecting this iconic building back to its former glory.

The year began with the consultant team pulling the design together, which has enabled the team to comply with all the current legislation for both building and fire regulations.  

Fast forwarding to Summer, we have seen our construction partner Abrey commence on site with the enabling package - encompassing façade retention, asbestos removal and the preparation and demolition of the site. 

This was then followed by IPG awarding Abrey the main contract, following their impressive drive to keep the project ahead of schedule.

Now, as the New Year dawns we eagerly await the forming of the concrete pad foundations, which will be the catalyst for the structural elements to rise from the ground.

These elements have been designed to tie into the existing facades to offer stability for this proud building to remain for future generations.

2023 will see the completion of this magnificent project, which we at Integritas Property Group are extremely proud to deliver – exciting times await!
