We’re pleased to announce that work onsite at the Lyceum has commenced, with surveyors on site marking setting out positions of structural components for both the facade retention and rear treatment of the building.
The construction team have confirmed each of the datum points before marking the correct areas for piling. Site haul road has now also been formed, with ground materials and waste beginning to be removed, and an excavator now on site to begin the outlying forming of foundations.
Mass pour of concrete foundations has now commenced. This process will gather pace once all the initial areas have been shallow dug.
All works have been carried out alongside the Structural Engineer and Building Control who have been in attendance to inspect works at key stages to date.
The procurement of materials will then follow in-line with the build programme, allowing the next stages of construction to be completed effectively.
The design team are collaborating closely on the finer elements of the building envelope to ensure quality and efficiency are optimised.
Throughout works the neighbouring roads have and will be regularly swept to minimise any disruption, safety and environmental issues.
Throughout March the design team will be actively working to get to RIBA stage 4 (Drawings and Technical Specification for Building Works), a Section 80 demolition notice will be submitted to the local council, and finalised details will be received and submitted from both Structural and Fire Engineers.
Our appointed Mechanical & Electrical consultant has submitted a detailed specification on how the completed building will meet the current performance criteria legislation, using the most efficient and eco-friendly solutions available, to ensure comfort, safety and economy for the end user.
This design development stage is key to the successful delivery of this prestigious scheme, which will enable our key supply chain partners to attain our Company values “Building for the Future with Integrity”
