Bastion Point Construction Update - August 2023

We are excited to share that the formation of the ground floor is now complete, and we are well underway on forming the first-floor columns as well as the second-floor transfer slab which acts as a support for the next floor’s posts and pillars.

A huge milestone for the project has been reached this month with the first delivery of the SFS (steel framed sections) framework to the site. This means we will see our specialist subcontractor complete all structural elements associated with the floors and the roof within the next 16 weeks. The first section of the steel frame is set to be erected at the beginning of this month. Over July we had an average of over 30 operatives on site in the form of Shuttering Joiners, Steel Fixers, Concrete Gangs, and associated supervision, all working to progress this prestigious project at an impressive rate. 

Due to the wet weather encountered earlier in the year, our concrete pours for the foundations were delayed longer than expected. Because of this, we have reassessed the building programme alongside our principal contractor, Abrey Construction, and we now anticipate completion by March 2024. Our team are diligently looking at ways to mitigate this minor delay as we continue to progress.
